Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe Wind Direction: ne Wind Stength: 12/18 Surf / Sea State: big then calming down Air Temperature: 18 Sea Temperature: 12.5 Weather: sunny Max Speed: 20.87 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 27 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
I managed to get down to The Dip just before 4 and Ian was out planning
with 8m on his carve so decided to rig 9.4 and go for a cruise on the
longboard !!! David Coles had just beat up from The Manor with 11m on his
formula for a coffee at the cafe so I reached back with him but I was abit
underpowered to sail broad so David had the edge !!! While David stopped I
continued along the coast and landed by the tower in the middle of
Dovercourt beach, after taking a few pics sailed further down the coast to
the remote beach in front of Titchmarsh/Horsey Island - a wonderful spot
with only birds for company and it would be a great place to sail from if
access was better !!! With the breeze increasing and the sea brcoming
bigger I had a mega beat back again stopping at Dovercourt to downhaul the
sail.I saw a liner,a huge container ship leave Felixstowe and had to wait
for a smaller ferry to pass before crossing the shipping channel !!! The
wind was easing abit now and by the time I got back to The Dip to met Mark
S. on the water the sea was really flat.Best of all it was warm and there
was not a cloud in the sky and there is more for tomorrow !!! can't
wait. Then home for a meal with Mag to celebrate our 30th wedding aniversery
- where have those years gone ????
